Holy Rosary Academy (HRA) is Nashville’s only private school to receive the National Blue Ribbon Award twice for academic excellence. HRA is a welcoming and caring Catholic school approximately 10 minutes from downtown Nashville.  Centrally located in Davidson County, the academy serves and is convenient for families from a multitude of suburbs in Nashville. The academy is approximately 5 minutes from the Nashville International Airport, 14 minutes from East Nashville, 15 minutes from Mt. Juliet, 15 minutes from Antioch, 16 minutes from The Nations, and 16 minutes from the 12th South area. Our school community is proud of our rich history that spans more than six decades and serves 327 students ages 3-14. We are currently looking for committed Pre-K, First and Second grade teachers to complement our collaborative and talented workforce of educators. Candidates will be responsible for preparing and implementing a full educational teaching plan according to the school’s requirements. It will be fundamental to provide knowledge and instruction to students while also helping them develop their character, emotional, and social skills. The ideal candidate will be a passionate and innovative teacher with an ability to reach students and form mutual respect and trust. He/She will know how to organize a class and make learning a fun, rewarding, and meaningful experience. At HRA, we strive to help cultivate our students’ interest in learning and serve as our students’ dedicated ally in their overall development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and advocate for the teachings of the Catholic Church

  • Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use instructional technology/visual/audio and a variety of teaching strategies as a means to facilitate learning

  • Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning and differentiated instruction

  • Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments etc.)

  • Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback

  • Maintain a neat and orderly classroom

  • Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings, events, etc. as necessary

  • Observe and understand students’ spiritual, behavioral, social and emotional needs

  • Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending training, seminars, conferences etc.

  • Serve as an excellent team member for colleagues

  • Serve as positive promoter of our school to our stakeholders and the public

  • Support the vision, direction, and directives of the Church and School Administration

  • Be an active member of the total school program by occasionally attending and at times be willing to sponsor or coach after school clubs, athletics, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Support and advocate for the teachings of the Catholic Church

  • Hold a valid TN teaching licenseor be able to acquire one within a year

  • Proven experience as a teacher, student teacher, or experience working with children

  • Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines, partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work alone and also in a team-oriented environment

  • Well-organized and committed

  • Bring a significant amount of energy to the position coupled with innovation and creativity

  • Strong moral values and work ethic

  • Bachelor’s Degree in teaching or in a specialized subject with a certificate/state licensure or ability and willingness to secure licensure

  • Holy Rosary Academy is seeking a full-time teacher's aide who will rotate between classes. At times, this employee would serve as an emergency substitute in other grade levels. This individual would work 9:30am until 5:30 pm Monday through Friday.
